Business Development Assistant – Youth Chaperon, Uganda

Organisation Description

Youth Chaperon Uganda is a youth-led organisation dedicated to empowering young people through initiatives that promote leadership, education, and social development. Based in Uganda, the organisation addresses key challenges such as unemployment, education disparities, and health issues among youth. Through mentorship programmes, skills training, and resources, Youth Chaperon Uganda enables young people to participate in civic activities and decision-making processes. By fostering entrepreneurship and community service, the organisation seeks to nurture a generation of informed and active young leaders who drive positive change in their communities.

Project Scope

The Business Development Assistant intern will play a crucial role in expanding Youth Chaperon Uganda’s reach and sustainability. The intern will assist with identifying and securing funding opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships, and refining the organisation’s business development strategies. This position offers valuable experience in the fields of partnership development, fundraising, and organisational growth.

  • Researching and identifying potential partnerships with NGOs, educational institutions, and businesses aligned with Youth Chaperon Uganda’s mission.

  • Supporting the development of proposals and presentations for potential partners, funders, and sponsors.

  • Assisting with outreach to prospective collaborators through email and social media platforms.

  • Contributing to the refinement and implementation of Youth Chaperon Uganda’s business development strategy.

Project Outcomes

  • Identified at least five potential partnerships or collaboration opportunities with relevant organisations and businesses.

  • Supported the creation of two comprehensive business proposals or presentations tailored to potential funders or partners.

  • Compiled a list of ten potential funding sources, including grants, sponsorships, or philanthropic contributions.

  • Contributed to a business development strategy report, outlining progress, key findings, and recommendations for future initiatives.

Internship Requirements

  • Strong research and analytical abilities.

  • Basic knowledge of business development, fundraising, or partnership building.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.

  • Enthusiasm for youth development and empowerment initiatives.
