A community-based organisation committed to uniting youth and children through sports and learning spaces, nurturing leaders with incorruptible character for today and tomorrow." With the aim of fostering togetherness, building self-esteem, body autonomy, and education among Rwamwanja Refugee women, youth, and children through raising awareness about sexual and reproductive health and rights, and providing information and communication technology training.

Project Scope

Assist in developing the strategy for a crowdfunding campaign for the organisation to raise $2,000 as part of the overall $10,000 goal to establish a youth soccer programme for underprivileged children in the local community. The funds will provide access to quality coaching, equipment, and facilities. The intern will collaborate on various aspects of the fundraising strategy, learning valuable skills in crowdfunding and campaign management.

  • Assist with the development of a targeted crowdfunding campaign, including crafting at least 5 unique campaign messages, refining the branding strategy, and outlining a comprehensive step-by-step fundraising strategy.

  • Research and identify potential audiences, aiming to engage a minimum of 50 local businesses, 100 community members, and 500 soccer enthusiasts for the crowdfunding campaign.

  • Help create engaging content for social media platforms, including the development of 10 social media posts and 2 video stories to drive awareness and donations.

  • Develop a plan on how the progress of the crowdfunding campaign can be monitored and develop diverse strategies to meet the $2,000 fundraising milestone.

  • Assist in generating donor engagement materials, including 5 email templates and 3 personalised follow-up letters for continued donor communication.

Project Outcomes

  • Social media engagement: Achieve at least 500 likes, 100 shares, and 50 comments across various social media platforms from the crowdfunding campaign posts.

  • Fundraising success: Raise $2,000 through the crowdfunding campaign and supplementary activities, contributing to the overall $10,000 goal.

  • Programme participatio: Secure enough funding to support at least 50 underprivileged children in the soccer programme.

Internship Requirements

  • Strong interest in fundraising, marketing, or community outreach.

  • Basic understanding of social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to research and identify potential target audiences.

  • Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new strategies and fundraising techniques.

  • Enthusiasm for working on projects that benefit underprivileged communities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a virtual setting.

  • Proficiency with basic tools like Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (e.g., Word, Excel, Google Docs).

  • No previous fundraising experience required, but a proactive attitude is essential.
