Marketing Assistant – School Farms, Ghana

Organisation Description

School Farms Ghana is an initiative aimed at addressing food insecurity, promoting sustainable agriculture, and empowering young people in Ghana. The project establishes school farms across various educational institutions to provide students with hands-on agricultural training, improve their understanding of sustainable farming practices, and create a source of food for school meals. By promoting agribusiness education, School Farms Ghana encourages students to see agriculture as a viable career path, ultimately contributing to local economic growth and food security.

Project Scope

The Marketing Assistant intern will play a crucial role in developing and promoting School Farms Ghana's media kit, aimed at enhancing visibility and attracting potential partners, donors, and sponsors. The media kit will highlight the organisation's mission, impact, and goals, serving as a key tool for outreach efforts.

  • Assist in the creation of a comprehensive media kit for School Farms Ghana.

  • Research and gather key data about the organisation's impact, including statistics on food security improvements, student engagement, and sustainability outcomes.

  • Develop engaging content, including visual materials and written narratives, to effectively communicate the organisation's story and goals.

  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the media kit aligns with the overall branding and messaging of School Farms Ghana.

  • Contribute to the design and layout of the media kit for both digital and print formats.

Project Outcomes

  • Developed a professional media kit that can be used to engage potential donors, sponsors, and partners.

  • Successfully crafted at least 5 compelling narratives showcasing School Farms Ghana’s impact on food security and education.

  • Designed visual content for the media kit, including infographics and key project images.

  • Increased visibility of School Farms Ghana by creating a resource that can be distributed through various channels (social media, website, direct outreach).

Internship Requirements

  • Basic skills in digital marketing, graphic design, or communications.

  • Familiarity with content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe) and social media platforms.

  • Strong written communication skills, with an emphasis on storytelling and persuasive writing.

  • Ability to research and organise information effectively.
