Marketing Assistant – Ubuzima Innovation Hub, Rwanda

Organisation Description

Ubuzima Innovation Hub is a youth-led NGO based in Rwanda, dedicated to promoting inclusive mental healthcare and well-being for young people. The organisation focuses on addressing mental health challenges, their root causes, and effects through innovative projects and partnerships with government and non-governmental institutions. By implementing community-based programmes, workshops, and other forms of innovation, Ubuzima Innovation Hub has provided mental health support, life skills education, and economic recovery assistance, especially for vulnerable individuals. Through its efforts, the organisation has advocated for mental health policy improvements and fostered resilience among Rwanda's youth since 2019.

Project Scope

The Marketing Assistant intern will contribute to the promotion and visibility of Ubuzima Innovation Hub’s flagship initiative, the "Innovation Zamuka" project, which provides targeted mental healthcare and economic recovery support for young people. The internship will focus on building awareness and engagement through marketing efforts that attract participants, funding and partnerships.

  • Develop engaging promotional materials, including social media content and marketing campaigns.

  • Manage social media platforms to increase visibility and audience engagement.

  • Create a promotional video showcasing the "Innovation Zamuka" project’s goals and impact.

  • Research and engage with potential partner organisations to generate new collaboration leads.

Project Outcomes

  • Created at least 10 high-quality social media posts that showcase the "Innovation Zamuka" project’s impact.

  • Produced one professional promotional video highlighting key outcomes of the initiative.

  • Increased the project’s social media following by at least 15%, contributing to the overall goal of a 20% growth in online engagement.

  • Generated a list of at least five potential partnership leads by researching and contacting relevant organisations.

  • Produced a comprehensive report summarising marketing efforts, the results achieved, and providing recommendations for future campaigns.

Internship Requirements

  • Marketing Skills: Prior experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing preferred but not mandatory.

  • Research Skills: Ability to identify and reach out to potential partner organisations.

  • Writing and Communication Skills: Strong written communication skills to craft compelling social media posts and marketing content.

  • Creativity: Ability to develop innovative marketing strategies to promote mental health awareness.
