Programme Design Assistant – ADIT Foundation Uganda
Organisation Description
ADIT FOUNDATION Uganda is a Refugee-Led Organisation established in 2015, operating within the Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement in the Kamwenge District of the Western Region, Uganda. The foundation aims to protect the most vulnerable populations, specifically focusing on children and the elderly, with a reach of over 500 individuals annually. ADIT is dedicated to enhancing the psychological, educational, and livelihood outcomes of the community, following international human rights standards. The organisation actively promotes diversity, including gender, tribe, religion, nationality, and health status, ensuring inclusive services through programmes such as the Daycare, Transit and Orientation Centre for children and youth, and the Community Workshop, which serves over 200 community members, focusing on skills development and empowerment.
Project Scope
The Programme Design Assistant will work closely with the Assistant Project Manager to create and implement a robust training curriculum for aspiring entrepreneurs. This curriculum will be part of the High Impact Incubation Programme, targeting at least 50 local women and youth entrepreneurs. The programme provides essential resources, including mentorship, workshops, and seed capital, aimed at converting innovative ideas into sustainable businesses. The intern will be responsible for conducting benchmarking activities, researching pedagogy, and helping facilitate the training of participants. This project is expected to contribute to the promotion of innovation, social cohesion, and the protection of human rights for up to 100 participants annually.
Project Outcomes
Develop a one-page brainstorming document outlining the training programme's primary goals and objectives, including at least 5 key measurable outcomes.
Identify and approach 4-5 strategic partners, including NGOs, private sector partners, and government agencies, to support programme success.
Establish a minimum of 3 team meetings to track progress and make adjustments to the curriculum.
Determine the participation of at least 50 individuals per cohort, outlining logistical needs such as venue size, training materials, and mentor availability.
Draft detailed roles and responsibilities for at least 5 key team members in recruitment, procurement, communications, logistics, and evaluation.
Create a formal system to connect each trainee with at least one mentor, establishing clear timelines and communication protocols.
Internship Requirements
Ability to conduct thorough research, with a focus on developing training content.
Proven interest in entrepreneurship or experience in business incubation programmes.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities across different programme aspects (managing at least 2-3 tasks simultaneously).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of engaging with a diverse group of stakeholders, including up to 10 partner organisations.
Commitment to gender equality, social justice, and the improvement of human rights through community development initiatives.
