Programme Design Assistant – Jokalante, Senegal

Jokalante is a social enterprise founded in 2016. Operating in Senegal and Gambia, Jokalante improves the lives of thousands of people through high value-added informational products and services aimed at enhancing their living conditions. Farmers are empowered with improved and tailored agricultural advice and climate information, which enhances their decision-making process for greater food security. Businesses and NGO clients are also supported through a digital toolbox platform that helps them engage more effectively with their audience.

Project Scope

This project will focus on assisting in the design of Jokalante’s climate education programmes, targeting farmers and the younger public to increase engagement around climate action.

  • Supporting the development of programme frameworks, draft learning objectives, and compile resources for two new training modules.

  • Conducting research on educational methodologies.

  • Refining content to meet learner needs

  • Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure relevance.

Project Outcomes

  • Complete the development of two programme frameworks, including detailed learning objectives and resource lists.

  • Conduct research and integrate best practices into the content, ensuring each module aligns with Jokalante’s training goals.

  • Gather and document feedback from at least five stakeholders, incorporating their insights into the final programme design.

  • All tasks will be completed within the specified timeframe, with progress monitored through weekly check-ins to ensure alignment with project milestones.

Internship Requirement

  • Interest in Climate Education – A passion for climate action and educational programme development, particularly in engaging farmers and the younger public.

  • Research Skills – Ability to conduct thorough research on educational methodologies and integrate best practices into programme design.

  • Content Development – Experience or interest in drafting learning objectives and refining educational content to meet the needs of diverse learners.

  • Organisational Skills – Ability to compile resources and develop structured programme frameworks, ensuring all deliverables are well-organised and completed on time.

  • Stakeholder Coordination – Strong communication skills to work with internal teams and stakeholders, ensuring the relevance of educational materials and gathering constructive feedback.

  • Attention to Detail – A meticulous approach to documenting stakeholder feedback and incorporating it into the final programme design.

  • Teamwork and Collaboration – Ability to work effectively with colleagues, particularly in fundraising and programme development.

  • Commitment to Deadlines – Strong time management skills to complete all tasks within the 60-hour timeframe, with weekly check-ins to ensure project milestones are met.
