Project Management Assistant – Youth Chaperon, Uganda
Organisation Description
Youth Chaperon Uganda is a youth-led organisation dedicated to empowering young people through initiatives that promote leadership, education, and social development. Based in Uganda, the organisation addresses key challenges such as unemployment, education disparities, and health issues among youth. Through mentorship programmes, skills training, and resources, Youth Chaperon Uganda enables young people to participate in civic activities and decision-making processes. By fostering entrepreneurship and community service, the organisation seeks to nurture a generation of informed and active young leaders who drive positive change in their communities.
Project Scope
The Project Management Assistant intern will support the coordination and implementation of Youth Chaperon Uganda’s development initiatives. This role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in project management, community engagement, and youth empowerment activities. Key responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the planning of workshops aimed at skill-building, such as CV writing and interview preparation.
Tracking the progress of project activities, including participant engagement and milestone achievements.
Coordinating with local stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals.
Managing communication efforts, including promotional activities, to maximise outreach and impact.
Project Outcomes
Successfully contribute to the planning, organisation, and facilitation of three skill-building workshops, each engaging at least 15 participants.
Complete pre-event surveys to assess community needs and compile a report, achieving a minimum 80% response rate.
Create and disseminate promotional materials, such as social media posts and flyers, increasing engagement with the workshops by at least 20%.
Deliver a comprehensive reflection report summarising lessons learned, participant feedback, and recommendations for future initiatives.
Internship Requirements
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Basic knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, or similar).
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
A genuine interest in youth development and empowerment initiatives.
Proficiency in creating digital content for promotional purposes.
